The Sri Lanka campus of LGS is located on the outskirts of the Capital City of Colombo and is situated in a peaceful eco-friendly environment; a pleasant ‘green’ environment which is ideally suited to serious and concentrated study. The campus itself has all the facilities that would be expected of a modern mini ‘university’, including multi-media equipment, 20 freely available wireless networked PC work stations, full A/C in everyone of our 12 study rooms, library, on-site shop, plus comfortable student rest and relaxation areas. Almost uniquely for Sri Lanka, the campus is directly run on a day-to-day basis under the careful supervision of resident British Management, with visiting Lecturers from the UK also periodically available ‘online’ and in person.
The students of Sri Lanka are undoubtedly amongst the most naturally talented and hard working to be found anywhere in the world and they realize and appreciate that a sound educational background and obtaining globally recognized Higher Education qualifications are crucial to enhancing their future career prospects. LGS in Sri Lanka are dedicated to nurturing the hopes and ambitions of our students and we want to make sure all our students have every opportunity to reach their full academic potential; as well as helping them to become well rounded and productive citizen who will be a credit to themselves, their families and their Mother Country.
To achieve these targets, LGS Sri Lanka has assembled a highly talented and professionally extremely well respected panel of Lecturers who will be available and capable of delivering all our courses to the very highest of ‘British’ accreditation standards. Many of these Lecturers have themselves successfully graduated from UK Universities and they are thus well aware, from their own first hand experiences, of exactly what is required to be a successful scholar and they will willingly pass on their knowledge and wisdom for the benefit of all the students enrolling at LGS in Sri Lanka.
In addition to the programmes run exclusively by LGS, a range of other courses are also available on-campus through the associated auspices of Britannia Education Services & Tuition (B.E.S.T.) www.bestlk.com. B.E.S.T. are well established as an English medium centre of learning and are, for example, a City & Guilds ESOL Approved Centre, an official British Council IELTS Registration Centre and conduct AAT courses in the Sinhala medium. B.E.S.T. are also regular exhibitors at the two leading Higher Education Expos that take place annually in Sri Lanka – namely Edex and Future Minds.
